Prerequisites: The course starts from very basic ideas, but a grasp of linear algebra and algebra will be useful.

Text: Association schemes:Designed Experiments, Algebra and Combinatorics'' by R.A. Bailey.
Homework: As we proceed, you will be assigned problem sets based primarily on the exercises in the text.
Presentations: Each student must give an in-class presentation based upon supplementary material choosen in consultation with the instructor.
Grades: The grade will be based upon the homework and the presenation.
Notes and Tapes: You are expected to take notes. All unauthorized recordings of class are prohibited. Recordings that accommodate individual student needs must be approved in advance and may be used for personal use during the semester only; redistribution is prohibited.
